In 2003, Cargo Data Management released its Internet access to these
systems. Customers can view the status of their freight via the World
Wide Web. Tracking information, as well as billing information, is
available. By giving customers access to the web, you can cut the costs

Victoria Airport Has Major Presence at Air Cargo Americas
Vitoria Airport offers total operability thanks to its excellent environmental
conditions. It is situated on a wide plain, protected from the wind
by a number of mountains located to the north. There are no large
population centers in its immediate vicinity, and it is safeguarded
by the urban development plans for the area, which forbid residential
development in order to allow for the growth of the airport. Vitoria
Airport is located in the north of the Iberian Peninsula and at the
center of the Atlantic and Mediterranean axes in southwest Europe.
Vitoria Airport is well placed geographically for goods to be transported
to and from America, Africa, Asia and Europe. Proof of this is the
fact that currently, goods are distributed from Vitoria Airport to
major European cities both by air (mainly night flights) and by road,
with a transit time of around 12 hours. All these factors have made
Vitoria Airport a vital logistics center, with an area of influence
that spans the whole of southwest Europe with a potential market
of 139.5 million consumers and 18.5 companies with a total turnover
of 5,6 million Euros and a GDP of 2,7 million Euros. For more information
on Vitoria Airport visit www.via-vitoria-airport.com.

Alitalia to Join Cargo Sales Joint Venture
Alitalia Cargo announced that it plans to join the joint venture formed
in 2001 by the cargo units of Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean
Air to coordinate export sales from the United States. The decision
was widely anticipated following the announcement earlier this week
by Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines that they plan to merge.
Alitalia, Air France, Delta and Korean Air all belong to the SkyTeam
Cargo alliance, along with Aeromexico and CSA Czech Airlines. KLM
has applied for membership in SkyTeam.
QATAR Airways Receives First Freighter
Qatar Airways announced that it has taken delivery of its first all-cargo
jet, an Airbus A300-600R with a capacity of 42 metric tons. The plane
was converted from a passenger jet at Elbe Flugzeugweke Gmbh (EADS
EFW) in Dresden, Germany, at a cost of $10 million. "We are
expecting to achieve cargo growth rates in the coming year of around
35 percent," said Akbar Al Baker, the airline's chief executive. "Along
with the new freighter, the new cargo terminal expansion will offer
cargo capacity of 180,000 tons." "The new freighter will
provide more capacity to carry cargo to Europe and southwest Asia
and the ability to offer a better premier class service," Al
Baker said. The airline plans to acquire two more freighters within
the next couple of years, he said.
